Welcome to our ToughTalks resources. These stories encourage children to learn key safety messages and explore ‘tough’ and often taboo topics in a safe environment with their peers.  The colourful child-friendly designs use puppets and comic-style illustrations set within their cultural context and country. This enables children to connect easily with the characters in the story.  Each image of the story has a series of easy to use questions and discussion points for the facilitator to guide children through the key safety messages relevant to each topic..

The current books available introduce key safety messages around the following topics:

  • sexual abuse

  • pornography

  • trafficking

  • refugees

ToughTalks are currently being used in over 10 countries globally and translated into 13 languages, in addition to English.
