My name is Hannah and I am one of the co-founders of Tehila Trust. I am passionate about justice and seeing an end to child cruelty and abuse. I am particularly passionate about listening to children and enabling their involvement in decisions that affect their lives. I completed my Masters in Social Work in 2002 and since qualifying, have spent most of my career working with children in the field of advocacy, children’s rights, participation and protection. For the last four years I have been in Zambia, working with organisations and churches to make environments safer for children. My role is to manage the programmatic areas of Tehila. I love working in a cross cultural setting and learning about child protection and safeguarding in different contexts.
I have a passion for integral mission and am keenly interested in social justice. Since 1997 I have served as the National Coordinator of Micah Zambia, where I have run educational campaigns, anti poverty programs, anti corruption initiatives, anti human trafficking initiatives and mobilising church and community members to participate in local and national campaigns. I have a keen interest in Child Protection; I feel that not much is done in Zambia to protect children and therefore, I see the need to mobilize the church and wider community to participate in child protection programs. I am currently working on my second masters degree with the University of Kwazulu Natal in South Africa and my research is focussed on the Intergenerational Transmission of poverty in Zambia. I am married and have two children.
