Well today I have made one of my first journeys in my wheelchair since arriving back in Zambia. We had a meeting in Lusaka city centre. Mind you, wheelchair access was a bit of a challenge!
Hope you are all well? I am recovering and starting to get back into some work preparing for our next Tehila training event in mid September. I am not allowed to weight bear for 12 weeks so as a family we are adapting once again. It has been wonderful to have Sam’s mum here to help us. She came to Cape Town and then travelled with me to Lusaka.
It has been a really special time, creating memories and hanging out together. And we so admire the way she has got stuck in, adapting to our life which I know is a bit chaotic and unpredictable alot of the time!
The weather is hotting up and the girls are back at school and loving it. Mind you I don’t think we will ever get used to the fact that children often don’t start back at school in week 1! Now it is week 3 the classes are nearly full and the girls are finally reunited with friends that they thought had left the school!
Oh one other exciting news this week… Isla has lost her first front tooth. She wanted Sam to explain to her teacher that she had got some money from the tooth fairy when she put her tooth under the pillow. According to Sam the teacher looked a little blank and confused. Not sure the tooth fairy is a concept in Zambia!?
Oh well, just a couple of the many quirky, lovely moments that reflect our lives here in Zambia.
